About US:

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.

Duties and responsibilities

General responsibilities

  • Assist in designing data collection methods and tools to be used in monitoring of field activities
  • Support  the program teams in needs assessment, baseline, outputs and outcome monitoring and evaluation  of on-going activities
  • Prepare and submit periodic  M&E reports as per the agreed reporting schedules per project
  • Conduct routine monitoring and follow up of  project activities
  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of  all project documents as required
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

Specific responsibilities

  • Responsible for Managing, recording, sharing, following up and consolidating community feedback of NRC activities and ensure those feedbacks are shared with the team
  • Work closely with the program teams and M&E
  • Responsible for collections, entry, cleaning and analysis of data
Qualifications
  • A university degree in social sciences, statistics, information systems management or related qualifications
  • Additional Qualifications in Monitoring and Evaluation, and / or Project Planning and Management will be an advantage
  • At least one year of experiences in M&E department; exposure in an NGO environmentis an advantage
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to receive, handle and store confidential project information
  • Fluency in both oral and written English and Knowledge of Kiswahili or Runyakitara
