Post: Assistant IT Officer
Job Purpose
This Assistant IT Officer will be primarily responsible with facilitating the installation and configuration of IT infrastructure. stall training and operations of IT activities in Yumbe and Arua offices. The Assistant IT Officer will offer support to the Country Program and work closely with the IT Officer, and on request with Field Manager and all program sectors to ensure proper ICT function and support..

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Under the Supervision of the 1T Officer and Field Manager. the Assistant IT officer will he responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
  • Installing, testing, configuring, integraling,troubleshooting, optimizing and maintaining hardware and software to maximize WMU system availability and ensure efficient and effiective sharing and transmission ot information.
  • Supporting system resources including performance, capacity, availability, service ability. and recoverabiity lo ensure the delivery of IT services.
  • Ensuring security compliance by reviewing network permissions and access to systems.
  • Build stall capacity in efficient and effective use of IT resources and the system infrastructure set up.
  •  Manage the Organizations database on a timely basis.
  • Test and evaluate new technology.
  • Set up new users‘ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Rapidly establish a good working relationship with all professionals, such as software developers
  • Any other duties that may be assigned your supervisor.

Requirements

  •  Bachelors Degree in Coltvuter Science or equivalent technical work experience.
  • At least 3-4 years of enperience in IT profession
  • Good knowledge of working with Microsoft office applications
  • Good Knowledge of configuring liardware and software.
  • Good experience in setting up peripherals such as parnters, routers. switches etc.
  • Well vast in Writing quarterly reports and traeting inventory in a timely manner.
  • Experience in installing. configuring and managing both wired and wireless LAN, and firewalls. Experience in working with Unili Aps, Cyberoam FWs is an added advantage.
  • Experience in working and installation oi lmlware virtualization technology
  • Computer imaging skills required.
  • Office 365, Outlook Mail or any other mail application setup experience required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Customer/ client service experience.
  • Able to work independently within a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Team spirit and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong sense of personal integrity.
