The Ministry of Health (MOH) has received a grant from the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) Cooperative Agreement (CoAg), a strategic mechanism of the United States Government (USG) to implement activities in line with its mandate in support of the Public health response to HIV/AIDS and other health systems.
CDC will be supporting a pool of Human Resources that are expected to lead the implementation of the grant. The staff to be recruited under this grant will be contracted by the MOH. The contracts are for one (1) year renewable subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance of the staff.

Job Purpose: To manage statistics for coordination and implementation of policies, standards and guidelines on epidemic preparedness and control by acquisition of information for production of periodic, Regional Referral Hospitals, Districts, Ministry and Sector Performance Reports and updating of National Health Information Database.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Plans and budget for health data collection and preparation.
• Monitors availability of HMIS tools in the region and act as liaison for the region with MoH HQ to ensure adequate HMIS tools stock
• Ensures HMIS data quality in the region is complete, timely and correct, conducting support supervision and guiding on data improvement
• Ensures data use in the region by conducting training and leading in the production of regional analytical health profiles annually among other critical periodic reports
• Participates in rollout of new system ensuring regional adoption of new systems
• Supports disease surveillance monitoring disease thresholds and notifying in cases of upsurges and outbreaks in-line with IDSR
Key Functions

Academic Qualifications
• Degree in Statistics or Biostatistics or Applied Economics or Quantitative
• Economics from a recognized University or Institution.
• Should be computer literate with skills in Statistical Packages/Spreadsheet like Microsoft Excel, SPSS, Stata, Epi Info etc and common programming languages.
• Three (3) years working experience in a similar position.
